With many CPA firms, you are simply a tax return and a client ID number. You meet with a representative of the firm once per year (often a different person each year), give them your tax information, and in several weeks, the firm mails your tax return to you. Then they tell you, "See you next year"
At Maddox, Thomson & Associates, we believe in a different approach. We pride ourselves on maintaining a continual, working relationship with each of our clients. We make a point to speak to each of our clients at least twice per year, outside of their tax return. We are available to meet with our clients at any point during the year, to answer any question they may have, or provide assistance in any way possible. We truly believe we are partners with our clients, helping them succeed in their endeavors. We are always available for advice or planning assistance, no matter how simple or complex the question may be.
Our tax return preparation process involves the client at every step of the way. At the end of the tax year, we send each of our clients an organizer, which helps them collect the various components of information we will need to prepare the tax return. When they have compiled all the information, they send it to us so that we may begin working on the tax return. We keep the client advised of the status of the tax return throughout the process. As questions develop, or the need for more information arises, we contact the client as soon as possible. After the tax return is completed, it goes through a quality control review to ensure all information is accurate. We then provide the client with a copy of the tax return to submit to the taxing authority, as well as a copy for their records. We are then able to explain any part of the tax return that the client may not understand.
However, our process does not end there. If you are required to make quarterly estimated payments, we can assist you in calculating the amount due for each payment. If you receive any notifications or questions from any of the taxing authorities, we will immediately respond on your behalf and work with them to resolve the problem.
We can also estimate for you, before your tax return is filed, the amount of taxes you will owe. This can be beneficial in making sure enough money is withheld, or, the proper amount of estimated tax is paid. If you are required to make estimated payments, we will remind you each quarter of the payment you are required to make.
At every point in our process, the confidentiality of your information is of utmost importance to us. We work very hard to ensure that your information stays in trusted hands.
