Mary Grainger, CPA
Manager
Mary graduated from the University of Houston with a B.B.A. in 1982. She began her career with Larry Kozielski, CPA before joining Monheit, Ogle & Co., which merged with Spicer & Oppenheim in 1985. She then moved to Dillashaw, Hawthorn & Co. before joining Maddox, Thomson & Associates in 1994. She is a member of the AICPA, the TSCPA, and the American Business Women's Society.
Mary is married to Bob. The couple has two children, a son and daughter, along with various cats and dogs.
Stacie Gill, CPA
Manager
Stacie has been with Maddox Thomson & Associates since 2003. She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a minor in Spanish in 2003. She is a member of the Houston Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs.
She is married to David Gill and attends Houston's First Baptist Church.
Denise Hurd, CPA
Manager
Denise received her B.B.A. from Ft. Hays State University in Kansas. After moving to Houston she worked in Public Accounting for Deloitte & Touche and then for Margolis, Phipps and Wright. She then moved to the Cullen Family Offices where she spent several years as Tax Manager before joining Maddox, Thomson & Associates in 2008. She is a member of the Texas Society of CPA's.
Denise is married to Daniel. They have two grown children, two miniature horses, and two dogs. Denise is an active member and teacher at Foundry United Methodist Church. She is also a volunteer and life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Alma Padilla
Manager
Alma received her BBA in accounting in 2001 and her MBA with a concentration in accounting in 2006 from the University of St. Thomas. She was previously a tax manager at UHY Advisors, where she spent over five years in tax compliance and consulting.
She and her husband Osmin have one daughter, Samira.
